Our 39 acre site offers ample space in which to enjoy learning the art of firing a shotgun in safe and scenic surroundings.


Shotguns are firearms designed to be fired from the shoulder, which use the energy of the explosive in a fixed shell to fire a number of small spherical pellets called shot.


They are frequently used for target shooting sports such as clay pigeon shooting which involves firing at clay disks, also known as clay pigeons, thrown in various ways.


Our clay pigeon shooting range provides all those with a competitive streak, the opportunity to test their skills against those of their friends or colleagues! The odd terminology for what essentially involves shooting clay disks, dates back to years gone by, when live pigeon competitions were held.


These competitions were made illegal in the UK in 1921, however, a target is still called a 'target' or 'bird', a hit is referred to as a 'hit' or 'kill', a missed target might be described as a 'bird away' and the machine which projects the targets is known as a 'trap'.


A simulated grouse shoot ensures a fantastic day of exhilarating challenges and enjoyment, no matter what the season. Accomplished shots can brush up on their target practice while newcomers to the sport are offered an ideal introduction.


Learn how to handle a firearm safely, load your weapon and improve your aim, all in the company of our experienced instructors who will guide you through a variety of techniques as you practice against fixed targets, while the more experienced can shoot unpredictable targets at our clay pigeon shooting range.


Our clay traps are placed in a variety of locations out of sight to send targets randomly over the team of guns at varying heights and speeds, while trajectories and angles are altered during the drive to ensure our guests are kept alert! We are happy to accommodate all levels of ability; however, these activities are only open to those over the age of 18.
